Have a limited number of iPads in your classroom? Only have one? Futaba Classroom Games may be just the app to suite your needs. It may be a little pricey at $4.99 but I feel it is worth the investment.
So far I have been trying to utilize the iPads as a tool for students to create digital artifacts of their learning. I wanted to avoid using the iPad as a gaming device or flashcard machine on steroids. Futaba Classroom Games could be categorized as a skill and drill type app but I think it provides some additional features that are beneficial.
Summary
1) Up to 4 kids can play the game at the same time.
2) Choose the "skill" games the students will practice.
3) Create your own custom games.
4) Password protect your games/settings so students cannot compromise their job.
5) Sync to Dropbox
6) Restore backups to multiple iPads. (Create games on one device and sync to others so you don't have to create the games on each iPad.

Conclusion
My first graders have really enjoyed using this app. With utilizing the Everyday Math curriculum, we usually have one day a week where we focus on learning our math through game play via the Everyday Math curriculum. With Futaba Classroom Games, we can continue to practice our math skills in a game format but now in a digital format that the kids can't get enough of each week.
